NOTE: if you register for the fall season. You DO NOT need to register for the conditioning camp in July. Conditioning camp is FREE for all players that have registered for the fall program.

Who We Are

The Prince George's Chargers was founded in January 2007 as a not-for-profit youth football & cheerleading organization. All offices of The Prince George's Chargers are located in Prince George's County Maryland, serving youth primarily in the Bowie, South Bowie, Lanham, Largo, and Mitchellville areas. The Prince George's Chargers organization was created with the vision that all young people will have the opportunity to become "Great". We take pride in the fact that the Prince George's Chargers is the result of the vision Board of Directors, who, through it all, made the determination that the youth of today are our future and we must begin to develop them as leaders of tomorrow through the art of competitive sports.

We are a proud member of the Metropolitan American Youth Football & Cheerleading Conference (THE Metro AYF) and the Metropolitan League Sports Association (MLSA Basketball). THE Metro consists of teams and associations from Prince George's County, Montgomery County and the District of Columbia. THE Metro AYF is a division of the American Youth Football national program and this membership allows us the opportunity to compete for State, Atlantic Region and National Football and Cheer Championships.

Our Mission

The Prince George's Chargers Youth Athletic Association is a Christian based youth sports ministry. As an association, we take great pride in the achievements of these programs, which operate at the highest level and is a strong catalyst in keeping the youth of our community off the streets and on the field of competition. The PG Chargers mission is to teach children the fundamentals of sports and the art of cheerleading while promoting the word of God, discipline, dedication and teamwork in a fun environment. While education is an imperative, an important part of the PG Chargers mission statement is to instill in our youths the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment and the spirit of community. We hope to help our community's children enhance social and life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, communication, and discipline. We will spread the word of God while playing organized sports such as football, basketball, track and soccer.


Registration is open year round and will remain open until such time as each age class is full. We encouraged you to register early and take advantage of reduced registration fees.


The 2015 registration fees (Football and Cheer) are as follows: $125 per child if you PAY IN FULL on or before January 31 OR $175 if you PAY IN FULL between February 1st and April 15th OR $210 if you register between April 16th and August 1st (payment plans are available between this period) OR $250 per child if you register on or after August 1st. Multi-child discount are available for each additional child in your family (between April 16th and August 1st); Full registration fees for all children must be paid prior to receiving equipment.
